Anchorage Chiropractors FAQ
Like other Anchorage chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Here are some of the most common questions and answers...

Do I need to see my General Practitioner before seeing a chiropractor?
You do not need to see your general practitioner prior to seeing a chiropractor. Anchorage Chiropractors are primary contact practitioners and are fully trained to diagnose whether yours is a chiropractic case or not. If not then you will be referred on to your GP or other healthcare professional.
Will my insurance cover chiropractic?
We are preferred providers for BC/BS and Aetna. We are able to bill most major insurances depending on the coverage. We will check with your insurance company for your chiropractic benefits and let you know ahead of time what will be covered.
Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
Adjustment of a joint may result in release of a gas bubble between the joints that makes a popping sound – it’s really the same as when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint that results in gas bubbles being released.
Do you adjust kids?
Yes! Children of all ages need chiropractic care too. Often, babies will become subluxated during the birthing process and of course, kids fall down all the time as they grow up. Children require smaller amounts of pressure to adjust and typically respond very quick to chiropractic care.
Do you adjust extremities like shoulders and knees?
Yes! People often misalign their wrist, elbows, shoulders, knees and ankles when they have spinal imbalances. Adjusting the spine and the involved extremity
restores the alignment and allows the body to heal itself properly.
